When I was a little girl my mom would make my Halloween costumes every year. As she would sew, I would collect the scraps and make clothes for my dolls. Mom taught me the ropes of the sewing machine with making pillows. In high school she began teaching me what was required to tailor a wearable garment. It was during this time I was introduced to a popular Japanese hobby; the world of Costume Play or "Cosplay". Fans dress up as their favorite comic, anime, video game or movie characters. Over the past several years I have constructed several costumes, including designs and creations of my own. I have learned how to create my own patterns based on the costume designs of my favorite characters. It has become one of my favorite past times.
